UX/UI Design Sprint: Savr Recipes

Project Duration:
Aug 14 - Aug 18 2023

Introduction:
Savr Recipes is a new startup that wants to make it easier for people to follow new recipes and cook great meals at home. They include hundreds of recipes and cooking tips for at-home chefs. They also have an active community of users who rate and review recipes for other users.

Role:
I had the opportunity to participate in this exciting project as a UX UI designer to redesign the recipe feature for Savr Recipes’ app.

Problem:
The negative reviews about recipes has increased in Savr because many people complained the recipes’ instructions were not clear, hard to execute, and involved many steps, etc.

- How to create a better experience for users when it’s actually time to cook?
- How to reduce the timing and steps of preparation in the recipes?
- How to help users to learn new cooking techniques?

Solution:
Redesign the feature for the Savr Recipes native mobile app to make it easy for users to use and improve the experience when they use it to cook at home. Such as providing simple and clearer steps of recipes, including a list of prep ingredients and kitchenware, accurate time of cooking or timer to keep users on the right track and prevent overcooking. Also, provide a level of recipe challenge for people to choose, so they can try something new without stress out. Another thing is to show what’s new, so they can be prepared while cooking.
